Watch Determined cabbie drives down flight of stairs Determined Sichuan cabbie says screw it, drives down flight of stairs Finding himself trapped inside the campus of a professional university in Chengdu, a very niubi taxi driver threw caution and good sense to the wind and just damn floored it down three flights of stairs to freedom. On Weibo, the heroic man is now trending as "Willful taxi driver" (任性的出租车司机) with hundreds of netizens expressing their admiration for his uninhibited spirit and Crazy Taxiesque determination. We have no clue how the dude managed to get himself up there, but reportedly students initially pleaded with the driver to please just wait a bit for a tow truck to escort him to safety. The man—apparently not very familiar with the concept of stairs or cars—decided that waiting is for pussies and instead resolutely took the plunge, sending shocked students scattering. A few dents, a torn off back bumper, a lost license plate and a couple of crushed cement stairs later, the cab driver cruised off into the distance, presumably wondering why the hell everyone had been so worried. Scream Queen Betsy Palmer passes.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Betsy Palmer, the veteran character actress who obtained lasting — if not necessarily sought-after — fame as the murderous camp cook in "Friday the 13th," has died. She was 88. Palmer's longtime manager, Brad Lemack, told The Associated Press on Sunday that Palmer died Friday in a Connecticut hospice care center. Palmer had appeared in films and TV shows for decades, several of them classics, before she took the role of Mrs. Voorhees in the cheesy 1980 horror film. She would say afterward that she accepted the role mainly because she wanted the money to buy a new car.
