Prince Charles & Princess Diana´s Wedding Cake Slice Up For Auction

A slice of cake from Prince Charles and Princess Diana´s wedding 34 years ago is set to be auctioned off later this week (ends18Dec15).Bidding on the 1981 treat, put on the block at Nate D. Sanders Auctions in Los Angeles, will start at $1,100 .The fruitcake with cream cheese frosting was baked by then-Naval Armed Forces baker David Avery, and comes in a silver presentation box and with the original gift note, which reads: "With best wishes from Their Royal Highnesses The Prince & Princess of Wales."
The item is listed as being in "very good condition", despite the fact the slice of cake is older than the couple´s eldest son Prince William.
The auction house bosses previously sold a slice of Charles and Diana´s wedding last year (14). That sold for $1,375 .
