Ice Cube And Kevin Hart Join Sportsman Cam Newton To Spread Christmas Cheer

Rapper/actor Ice Cube and comedian Kevin Hart helped American football star Cam Newton give high school students in Charlotte, North Carolina an early Christmas surprise on Tuesday (15Dec15) by gifting them with funds for a gym makeover.The Carolina Panthers quarterback has been making charitable donations throughout the festive season via his Cam Newton Foundation, and this week, he stopped by Harding University High School with the Ride Along co-stars and his teammates Joe Webb and Derek Anderson as his special guests.During the visit, the quintet presented high school football players with a check for $7,500 to pay for the refurbishment of their run-down weight room. The funds were raised with the support of bosses at Universal Pictures, the movie studio behind Ice Cube and Hart´s 2014 hit Ride Along and its upcoming sequel.
Newton also had a little fun with Hart by challenging the diminutive funnyman to lift 225 pound (102 kilogram) weights on a bench press. He gamely accepted and managed to complete three reps, prompting the crowd to burst into applause.
The group of celebrities, all wearing Christmas sweaters and Santa hats, also made three other stops during the day, gifting local school kids with free desserts and gift cards for the holidays as they posed for photos and signed autographs for fans.
